Tip of the Week: Sharing Photographs

Many readers send us a text they wish to be posted on our blog. Often, the submission includes one or more photographs.

The best way to share your photographs, is to send them as an attachment to your email.

Do not embed the images into a word document!

Do not stick them into a powerpoint presentation, or some other files!

If you embed images into a word or powerpoint document, the image size and quality may be compromised. It also causes additional work for the editors, who have to extract the images from those documents.

If you want to indicate the placement of a particular image within the body of a text, include a reference (place img 3456 here) at the place where you want the image to appear.

If possible, send us the original full size photographs instead of a smaller versions such as those posted in whatsapp or Instagram or other social media. Many of our readers view our blog on a large format computer screen, and images look much better if they are of sufficient size.
