We are enjoying retirement and have been exploring amazing corners of Albania (our first base in our first step of retirement. ) Lake Ohrid is an amazing lake on the border shared by Albania and North Macedonia.
Last week we did an amazing road trip from Tirana to Korca to Pogradec on Lake Ohrid. Swans are a huge feature on the lake and in the many streams that flow into it. The lake is one of Europe's oldest and deepest lakes and is a crystal clear gem. We walked up and down the lake front promenade multiple times each day. I also did some fun paddling on my stand up paddle board and some snorkeling. I could not help but admire these kitschy swan-inspired park benches. For right now this bench is my new favorite. We could sit here and see the entire lake, watch kids swim, smell the honeysuckles, and greet others as they strolled by to take in all the beauty.
Do you have a favorite park bench? Please share it and the story behind it. Below are a couple more pics of lovely Pogradec and the crystal clear lake.
