This hybrid, online and in-person Roundtable, features panelists with years of engagement in Afghanistan and the subject of sanctions. We plan to explore the current economic and social situation and the impact of policies imposed by external actors including restrictions on the functioning of the economy, forced refugee returns and sanctions as well as the seizure of the country’s sovereign external reserves.
