UN Commission of Inquiry calls on all states to cease providing Israel support and to comply with their obligations under the Genocide Convention :

The UN Independent Commission of Inquiry has issued a statement declaring that countries providing assistance to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories may be considered complicit in Israel’s actions. The commission cites an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) declaring Israel’s occupation since 1967 unlawful, as well as a recent UN General Assembly vote demanding the occupation end within a year. The commission calls on all states to cease providing Israel with financial, military, and political aid or support, and to comply with their obligations under the Genocide Convention, in light of potential war crimes and possible genocide in the Gaza Strip.

  1. What can be the impact of such statements when the party concerned has absolutely no regard for the whole United Nations System, and more so continues to insult it and its leaders, turns a deaf ear to all its Heads of Agencies, kills UN personnel by the hundreds, attacks Peace-keeping forces, etc. etc. etc.? Add this to the hundreds of equally important statements and a multitute of UN , rsolutions and other such legal issues.
