When the Earth Shook the Security Council

 YouTube shared by Tom McDermott

At U.N. headquarters in New York, an 4.8 magnitudee earthquake in New Jersey shook UN Headquarters, interrupting the chief executive of Save The Children, Janti Soeripto, as she briefed an emergency Security Council session on the threat of famine in Gaza and the Israeli drone strikes that killed aid workers there. Soeripto paused briefly before asking the President of the Council whether she could proceed. The Palestinian Ambassador told Soeripto,"You are making the earth shake." In short order, diplomats’ phones blared with earthquake alerts.
