It is with deep sadness that we inform of the demise of our dear colleague Dr Kamla Gopal Rao, in Bangalore, on 12 January, 2024, at the age of 92 years.
Dr Rao joined UNICEF in the Planning Section in 1978-79 and moved to Afghanistan in 1984-85. After her assignment in Afghanistan, she was posted at Kolkata office till her retirement. After retirement she was staying in Bangalore with her son, Dr Ashok Rao.
Dr Rao is fondly remembered by her colleagues as a good human being, a solid professional and modest about her achievements.
