What gorgeous photos, both horrifying and edifying! Bravo to UNICEF Germany for keeping up this tradition. I will share this link with family and friends.
A lot of good analysis here. I still have trust in “Western” democracy, but it needs constant renewal and engagement. Any ambitions of dominance should be given up.
The Swiss parliament confirmed the Swiss contribution to UNRWA.

What an interesting application of Johari’s Window, thankyou!
This is an opinion piece, not objective journalism, with obvious political bias. The problems with UNRWA politicization and poor governance are well known, both within the UN family and among donors, as well as with independent NGO’s working in the territories.
There will be a cease fire as soon as Hamas lays down it’s arms and frees the hostages. Please stop placing all of the responsibility on Israel (who was brazenly and viciously attacked) and the United States. Propaganda presented in this article is unhelpful.
Lovely pictures! Brings back memories of my visit in summer 1967 when Guru and I were doing our Ph.D in Canada. Thanks Steve for posting and nice to see you and Nigel, another XUNICEF India (Mumbai 1983?) Season's greetings. Sree
If this does not still stir the conscience of those who matter, there is no humanity left anymore. Regrettably we have turned politics into the last resort of the scoundrel. It’s an act of cowardice to justify such atrocities as a collateral damage in the act of safeguarding ‘strategic interests’ be it worth the tuppeny that it has been reduced to. You don’t wage a war to effect economic recovery - not anymore. It’s not the depression of the 1930s that we are witnessing today. Its complexity cannot be simplified by suggesting a quick fix through waging war and disaster with the hope of creating a new cosmos out of the chaos. Time for reflection, time for reckoning!

Special thanks to Gautam Banerji of the great X-UNICEF News team for assembling the text and pictures. Comments above are very much appreciated. However, if you are like me, and wish to avoid all things Google, then your comment will always appear as as "Anonymous". So you might consider adding as I do, your name at then end. (: Steve U

Well the upper house won only by 2 votes. It's worrisome. The support is fading?

Great to see a new place with your eyes😊
Misinformation is being perpetrated by all parties in the conflict. Nevertheless whichever side resorts to this heinous crime needs to be strongly condemned.
So well worded for all eternal wanderers, strangers, who are amazed about what is normal for everyone else.
