At the end of the brief furlough granted for him to see off his father, Siamak Namazi returned to Evin Prison in Tehran on Wednesday. Today was his 51st birthday, but in Evin Prison the day was marked by a riot among prisoners, a massive fire, and a violent response by security forces. We join the Namazi family in concern and are praying for Siamak's safety today and beyond - and for an early release from imprisonment.
Update at 1120 EDT : Namazi family has just heard from Siamak that he is okay. Thank God !

This is most worrisome. Among many other political prisoners, US hostage Siamak Namazi is in Evin prison. Today is his 51st birthday, the seventh birthday he’s spent as a hostage. The authorities must ensure the safety of these prisoners. https://t.co/uaBcVzE8TM

Thanks for informing us that Siamak is safe. It is very worrying for Baquer and his family. They are in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteViva the women and girls of Iran who are showing their mettle and putting the men to shame in their redoubled efforts to gain their rights. Bravissime!
