Cicely Tyson
The American actress Cicely Tyson passed away on 28 January at the age of 96.
She was an accomplished artist of stage, TV, and movies. Cicely was also an active supporter of UNICEF, In the 1980s and 1990s, she promoted the Trick or Treat program of the US Committee as well as the greeting card campaigns.
She had also participated at UNICEF's Artists and Intellectuals meeting in Harare, and addressed on our behalf the UN Ambassadors dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York. She was always willing to assist our efforts and was a pleasure to work with.
