Subject: White House Office on Children and Youth: Sign-On Letter - Major Update
Thank you for signing onto the letter in support of a White House Office on Children and Youth. Over the past few months, 350 organizations and leaders have joined this proposal that would bring sustained attention to research and policy recommendations, enhance alignment and coordination of federal programs and investments, and ultimately set our country on a trajectory of wellbeing, prosperity and thriving for the future. Please find the final letter attached.
In addition to the letter, Nemours Children’s Health System, Mental Health America, First Focus on Children, The Education Redesign Lab at Harvard Graduate School of Education, and the Forum for Youth Investment have developed two issue briefs that detail why this office should exist (Rationale) and the specifics of what it would do (Charter). The briefs also describe how a federal Children’s Cabinet would ensure that policies and programs within each department result in coordinated solutions for families and the stakeholders that serve them on the ground. You can find those documents, a press release, and other information at this link.
If you or your organization would like to spread the word about this important proposal, please see below for a sample tweet, LinkedIn post, and language for a newsletter. In addition, please reach out directly to any of the partners listed at the bottom of this email if you would like to assist with encouraging the Biden-Harris Transition to adopt this initiative as part of its First 100 Day Plan. Thank you again for your support!
