Following a recent decision by the FOGGS Executive Board, the Foundation has started to wind down its activities with a view to shutting down completely in the coming months. (The detailed note from the FOGGS leadership can be found on the FOGGS homepage here). In an effort to preserve key assets of FOGGS, an agreement has been reached with the Global South Perspectives Network (GSPN) and its co-conveners, the Inclusive Society Institute (ISI) of South Africa and HumanizaCom of Brazil, to transfer Katoikos.world to GSPN.
Since its establishment in 2014, Katoikos has been using pieces of analysis and opinion humour, and the arts, video and audio to bring people together around shared challenges and hopes. Initially a private venture focused on Europe and known as Katoikos.eu, it was transferred to FOGGS and was relaunched in 2018 as Katoikos.world, an independent global project of FOGGS, aligning with FOGGS' mission of fair, inclusive globalisation through improved global governance, sustainability, and citizenship for the digital era.
Moving forward, Katoikos will be edited and maintained by GSPN, which is a consortium of Global South think tanks and experts. We renew the invitation to our community members to contribute to Katoikos, by submitting articles or artistic content for publication. We will continue to provide a platform for people to raise their voices and participate in an ever-evolving discussion on how to improve the world we share. |
