The first delivery of humanitarian aid arrived in Tigray today since the peace agreement, according to tweets by UNICEF and UNHCR.
“The first delivery of humanitarian aid arrived in Tigray today since the peace agreement. This lifesaving support is critical for women and children,” UNICEF twitted. UNICEF added that more supplies will be delivered to all areas impacted by conflict including in Afar and Amhara regions.
Similarly, UNHCR twitted that the first convoy since August arrived in Mekelle, Tigray region, carrying life-saving humanitarian aid including medicines and shelter kits to treat the sick and repair destroyed homes.
More is on the way as UNHCR scales up delivery of protection and solutions in northern part of Ethiopia.
