Prabhu Prabhakaran tells us about a memorable encounter in New Zealand with an 88 year old gentleman. Prabhu and his wife were on a trip around Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand, and before leaving Auckland, they decided to visit the famous film studios of Weta in Miramar, NZ. While they were doubting where to get down from a bus in order to find the studios, by chance they met someone who lived almost next door.

Exchange of views - I commend to all our readers to carefully read the exchanges between Thomas Ekvall and Gautam Banerji on issues related to UN, UNICEF, development etc. This was certainly the most extensive discussion we have seen in our Blog, carried out through their respective opinions in the Comments section. This is in fact what many of us hoped would become the normal pattern of thought provoking analyses and review among our members. We sincerely hope that our members will make the effort to continue such discussions and comments.
The International Day of Older Persons was commemorated by the UN on 1 October with meetings in New York and Vienna.

The rather skimpy points appearing in various media outlets leaves one to wonder about the unmentioned ideas behind the whole Plan. More details will certainly come out in the next few days, chief among which will be the reaction of Hamas and other Palestinians.
