Thanks Paula for the link to the article on likely increase in temperature as global warming appear to be out of control. The warning by the scientists dates back since 1950s but our consumer society and the economy based on consumerism continued to ignore the warning. Whatever solutions are being tried as alternate source of energy based on renewable source is too little too late.
During the COVID lockdown people everywhere adjusted with reduced consumption and less work. It is possible to adjust our lifestyle with less energy but it will not be acceptable. The energy consumption is actually on the rise.
The bottom line is we do not have an acceptable solution. It is likely that as a result of rising temperature there are likely serious environmental impact that could cause serious health impact on humans and other animals leading to unforeseen consequences.
Let us hope that humans will somehow adjust and survive!

This unfortunate decision may be the first signal that the world has learned little from the COVID pandemic and will be unprepared for the next global challenge to public health. If so called 'first-world' governments are already refusing to commit to support epidemic responses in the rest of the world, both those they refuse to help and they themselves will suffer the consequences. Global threats to public health need global responses, which rely on global cooperation and resources.
