What IS YOUR NAME and your last assignment with UNICEF?
Ramesh Shrestha
Representative, Myanmar (Burma)
How old do you feel?
50 years with lots of body pain, especially in the morning.
Where do you live?
Ottawa, Canada and annual visit to Kathmandu, Nepal
What book do you currently read?
No more tears by Gardiner Harris
If you could travel without restrictions, where would you go?
Greenland and Hokkaido in Japan
Your best experience with UNICEF?
Working as Child Protection Officer in Vietnam
Your biggest challenge when working for UNICEF?
Working as Coordinator for Oil-for-food program in Iraqi Kurdistan and dealing with Sanctions Committee in UN, New York
What is your biggest fear, in relation to the future of children? What is your greatest hope, in relation to children?
Fear: The Social media and Artificial Intelligence will destroy human beings natural cognitive skills
Hope:The young generation will soon wake up to the problems created by consumerism and distorted economy created by the private sector
What is one piece of advice you would wish to give to the UNICEF Executive Director?
Try not to do everything in the name of children. In UNICEF a habit of extending our mandate has been creeping that justifies everything in the name of Child Rights.
Do you have any suggestions to improve XUNICEF - content, format, ideas, etc..?
Perhaps a periodic contest on topics of general interest such as photography

Ramesh - good idea with the contest (photography or otherwise). It keeps us on our toes. Why don't you draft an article/invitation about it?
