What IS YOUR NAME and your last assignment with UNICEF?
Blanca Luz Gomez Diaz (ex Blanca San German) -
Supplies & Logistics Officer in UNICEF Lifeline for Haiti (major earthquake), based in the Dominican Republic in 2010.Furthermore, I continued working as Consultant on emergency missions, when and where required until 2017.

How old do you feel?
I feel I am 70

Where do you live?
In Mexico City

What book do you currently read?
Novels, books and essays on Economics and Politics in Latin America.

If you could travel without restrictions, where would you go?
To developing/emerging countries in Africa/Asia/Latin America.

Your best experience with UNICEF? 
Working in emergencies in different regions, gave me the opportunity to be part of a global mission with the purpose to protect and improve the living conditions of affected women and children, through humanitarian and sustainable development projects.

Your biggest challenge when working for UNICEF?
Working in Sierra Leone precisely after the 10-year civil war (1995-2000) period during which the
children´s rights were totally unattended. This assignment was more than completing a Masters Degree in
Emergencies of all type.
SUCH A HUGE CHALLENGE !!!!

What is your biggest fear, in relation to the future of children? What is your greatest hope, in relation to children?

Fear : My biggest fear on the children´s future is to see them grow in a planet undergoing extreme climate crisis, importhereant demographic
displacements and major social and economical inequities.

Hope : My greatest hope is in the power of technology to guarantee gobal inclusion to education and services, medical and energy innovations
to improve quality of life and global cooperation towards building a more equitative and sostenible world, respecting children´s rights.

What is one piece of advice you would wish to give to the UNICEF Executive Director?
To promote technology as a tool for inclusion and global connectivity allowing children to have universal access to education and services.
To promote values of cooperation and resillience and create greater awareness of children´s rights in favor of equity and social justice.

Do you have any suggestions to improve XUNICEF - content, format, ideas, etc..?
To include more information on latest global developments, and specific cases of success, representing an improvement in the actual living conditions of marginalized populations, mainly women and children.
