Very nice, very intriguing!
Horrific. And over 14,000 innocent children killed in Gaza. HEARTBREAKING.

Love the direction of the posts..Question are UN structures, strategies, processes mid century ones with a dash of digitization thrown in now fit for purpose? We need a UN even more than ever but in what incarnation? Influential states want safe leadership. Not always effective leadership and it's states not peoples who dominate .
As long as the UN system does not haven't a reliable funding base, states will use control of purse strings to stifle initiatives they do not like.
Hi Samphe, sorry to hear your experience has not been so positive to date. My experience has been somewhat different from yours over the years. Perhaps it helps that I am based in Toronto.

Recently, I was invited to a panel discussion they had and also was able to invite some of our XUNICEFers to join me.

In any case, Sevaun is young and dynamic and eager to learn and do well and it would be great if you could come. In the least, it will be a nice social exchange.

Very best, Niloufar

Over the years, I have tried and faced only the cold shoulder, when I thought we could be useful -- even when I met UNICEF Canada staff in conferences etc. Once, I made what for me was a significant donation but really no follow up...I will try my best to make it..let you know closer to the time..Cheers..Samphe
Thank you Mary. Blanche is certainly getting the recognition she deserves now. She must be feeling vindicated at last..
Absolutely! She was and remains my guiding light.

Margherita, I really enjoyed reading your beautifully written account of Blanche as aunt and godmother artist. Accompanied by some of her truly compelling paintings, your insightful desciption becomes even more meaningful. I especially love the screen of the woman and deer! How true that if women artists had been recognized by the male establishment as worthy of recognition, she would have figured prominently in those circles then and now.
Paula, in a democracy elected officials represent the will of the people. If the government in the USA is not representing the will of its people, then the USA are not a democracy.

Wish I could be more hopeful on this issue, but I fear the answer to Mr. Malik's final two questions is "No". Elected officials globally, especially in the US, are far behind public sentiment about the need to address climate change. Still, one can hope and take action at whatever level is possible. Thanks for sharing, Kul.
How fortunate you are to have had a woman like Blanche in your life, Margherita. She sounds wonderful and her diverse talents are amazing. Thank you for sharing this booklet.

I felt as though I was walking with you and feel spiritually elevated after having shared your lovely story about bringing a smile to Aama's face every day.
Thanks, Rohini. Actual Kudos are for H.E. Geroge Fraser, Australian High Commissioner, Dr Teatao, Health Secretary and Hon Minister of Health, Kiribati. They were the super-heroes committed to save the lives of under-five babies . . . I feel honored to have known them personally and worked with them.
