Many members of UPGI and XUNICEF sent messages of sympathy on the death of Mr. Radhakrishnan and circulated these among others in UPGI. We are not able to reproduce these messages here, but we draw the attention of all to the article sent by Mohindra Kumar and the poem "God's Dialogue with Me" which we have posted separately - https://xunicefnewsandviews.blogspot.com/2022/07/gods-dialogue-with-me-v-radhakrishnan.html

"Condolence messages should be addressed to family members. Ramadass has given the email address. They should not be copied to all members - clutters up Inboxes.

Dear Friends,
ReplyDeleteLIke so many former colleagues I was saddened to hear of Radha's passing. I worked closely with him for quite some time when he took over POC functions in New Delhi and we got on well. I found him to be quite strict yet helpful and flexible when appropriate in the application of policies and practices in that at-times-controversial area of our work - many will remember the many changes and struggles with our systems over the years!
May his soul rest in peace. But I'm sure he's up there somewhere diligently screening and checking on new arrivals! :-)
I agree with Uma's reminder that simple condolence messages should be sent directly to the family rather than just copied to all members with the reply icon; but I have no problem seeing messages that include substantive remembrances of colleagues - it helps to revive memories especially of those we may not have known well.
All the best.
Tad
