    I have one lasting memory of Stephen Lewis at NYHQ in 1999. We often crossed paths in UNICEF House and exchanged jokes or anecdotes… but this particular day he was in the lift heading for the 13th floor… and he mentioned he’d just seen a movie poster in New York for a new science fiction film called “The 13th Floor’ and he was amused that the poster had the words ‘It doesn’t really exist.’ under the title. We laughed at the thought he should display the poster in UNICEF House. Then I told him of a short poem I’d seen on the NY subway- in a campaign called “Poetry in Motion’” also suitable for display at the top floors of UNICEF House- it was a poem by an anonymous poet which simply read, ‘Their relationship consists - of discussing if it exists.’ RIP Stephen- always open to the lighter side of serious work.
