Your biggest challenge when working for UNICEF?
Straddling diplomacy and competence

What is your biggest fear, in relation to the future of children? What is your greatest hope, in relation to children?
Fear:   For the most part, they experience hunger, poverty and abuse that lead to difficult emotions as adults
Hope:  We humans and humanitarian organizations will do better for them

What is one piece of advice you would wish to give to the UNICEF Executive Director?
Continue to Keep the focus on children, starting at an early age, as we have done. Do not be swayed by politics, continue good diplomacy and personal outreach.

Do you have any suggestions to improve XUNICEF - content, format, ideas, etc..?
Continual restructuring demotivates personnel. Can’t over-stress the need for communication and relationship building with counterparts.
