With the end of March approaching and with that, the departure of some of our current editorial team at the xUnicef blog, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the extraordinary efforts and dedication of this group.
I have learned first hand, through my photo features, what it takes to put together the weekly digest, and extend my sincere gratitude to the team, especially to Tom McDermott, Fouad Kronfol, Doreen Lobo, Detlef Palm, Gautam Banerji, and (former team member) Gianni Murzi , and all the others who gave of their time to provide and impart articles of relevance for this blog where the work begins long before we read the final edition. For my part, the team has worked effortlessly arranging my own features, often changing this & that (my doing), adding or eliminating, at the last minute to ensure accuracy.
I’d also like to thank all the readers (including many with the name “Anonymous”) who sent in thoughtful, inspiring and eloquent comments on my features. I read them all with gratitude, and they have provided the motivation to share more photographic ideas and subjects with our members. Thank you!
I will continue to liaise with the new editorial team, especially Rob Carr and Joachim Theis who have agreed to assist with features. Rob has already helped out and done a great job with my last feature “Graffiti...”.
We continue to encourage all readers to send in their stories, photos, or articles. We know many of you have wonderful talents – so let us see your photos, paintings, collages, pottery, gardens, and any other hobbies you are keeping under wraps!
My best wishes to the current team – enjoy your well-deserved “second” retirement; and best of luck to the new team – will be in touch soon!
