Should News Links continue? : Tom McDermott

I would appreciate hearing from readers on whether News Links should continue.  Daily readers of recent News Links posts have ranged from 10 to 15 people.  This number of readers may not justify the work of compiling the articles on either a daily or weekly basis.

The idea behind News Links is to provide readers each day or each week with key news items relevant to XUNICEF, UNICEF, or development and humanitarian action. Selected items appear as a short 2 to 3 sentence summary and a link to the published article for each item.

News Links started out of concern that news items - while often important - took up too much space in the XUNICEF blog  and distracted readers from articles and comments sent in by members.

A fair number of our readers have said that they are not interested in seeing articles on the XUNICEF Blog that they could read elsewhere.  On the other hand, other readers say that they like that News Links provides a 'curated set' of links specific to UNICEF's work.

One alternative might be a narrative commentary on important news relevant to UNICEF every few days.

If you are among those who open News Links daily or weekly, please let me know what you think?
