New study suggests severe flu can damage the heart : John Gilmartin

Here’s a recent report from GAVI on the recent work on the link between serious flu infection and heart attack mortality. This is not a technical, and comes from a great resource, GAVI.

It finds that a yearly flu shot for adults over 55 will reduce their odds of death by heart attack by 20%.

If this news was for a brand new patented pharmaceutical (a pill old people take say once from August to October before flu season) that product would be a block buster.

Instead, this new science based finding is about an old product given out “free” in every US pharmacy. But it is a 'jab.’ Given once a year. Half of my countrymen skip it, even though it’s free of charge for them in any pharmacy or clinic in the USA.

Current coverage of American old people in the US is 50%. And, worse news, since covid, the flue vaccine coverage rate continues to decline.

The second attached doc is from the US NIH and provides data by age, gender, education and ethnicity.

The third document attached is the current flu coverage data from Europe. To my surprise, Europe is even worse as a group, with a few exceptions!
