Results of PassBlue’s Survey: ‘Vote for the Next UN Secretary-General’

PassBlue reports the results of its informal reader survey on who should become the next UN Secretary-General for the 2027–2032 term.
Michelle Bachelet of Chile led decisively with 29.1% of the vote, followed by María Fernanda Espinosa of Ecuador (13.7%) and Mia Mottley of Barbados (8.9%), while French activist Colombe Cahen-Salvador ran a strong write-in campaign with 7.8%.
The survey, held Oct. 18–26, also noted that three candidates have already formally entered the selection race: Bachelet, Rebeca Grynspan of Costa Rica, and Rafael Mariano Grossi of Argentina.
Interesting that most are women…will the UN finally break the glass ceiling ? Also it looks like South America is the most actively campaigning. For diversity we have one male and one African in the mix.
