Summary
President Donald Trump used his UN General Assembly address to denounce the UN as outdated and ineffective while boasting of U.S. strength under his leadership.

He claimed credit for ending multiple wars, destroying Iran’s nuclear program, and halting illegal migration, while railing against climate change policies, European leaders, and multilateral institutions. His remarks mixed campaign-style attacks with sweeping foreign policy claims, positioning the U.S. as a unilateral power that no longer waits for UN approval.

Main Points

  • Domestic bragging – Claimed U.S. economy is booming, stock markets at record highs, and illegal migration “down to zero.”

  • Peacemaking – Said he ended “seven wars” without UN help, criticized UN as irrelevant.

  • Iran – Announced U.S. obliterated Iran’s nuclear program in “Operation Midnight Hammer.”

  • Gaza – Called for hostage release, opposed recognizing a Palestinian state, insisted Hamas “must not be rewarded.”

  • Ukraine – Blamed Europe for funding Russia through energy purchases, threatened tariffs.

  • UN failings – Mocked UN construction overruns, teleprompter glitches, and reliance on “strongly worded letters.”

  • Migration – Accused UN of financing illegal migration, said Europe is being “destroyed.”

  • Climate & energy – Called climate change “the greatest con job ever,” promoted fossil fuels, attacked renewables.

  • Crime & drugs – Vowed military force against cartels, gangs, and Venezuelan networks.

  • Nationalism – Urged nations to defend sovereignty, culture, and Christianity.
