Important Update about Your ASHI Contributions
Dear ASHI participant,
This notice is to inform you of important additional updates regarding your ASHI contributions.
As previously communicated, updated ASHI premiums and related 2025 ASHI contribution amounts went into effect on 1 July 2025, with August pension deductions reflecting the updated ASHI contribution amounts posted under the Guidance Material heading in the Retiree Section of the UN Health Insurance website here: Retirees | Health & Life Insurance Section.
It was anticipated that the ASHI deductions made from your August 2025 pension payments would also include the retroactive adjustment for July 2025. However, due to technical issues, most ASHI participants will have this retroactive adjustment reflected in September 2025 rather than in August.
This means that your ASHI deductions for July, August, and September 2025 will each be different. ASHI deductions made starting in October 2025, will represent your standard monthly ASHI contributions as communicated in the ASHI contribution letter sent to ASHI participants.
Unfortunately, due to the current high-level meetings at UN Headquarters, the mailing of the ASHI contribution letters has been delayed with letters now expected to be sent within the next two weeks.
We regret the confusion these issues may have caused and thank you for your understanding and patience.
Warm regards, United Nations Health and Life Insurance Section
Update on Your ASHI Contributions
-
New rates started in July: ASHI contribution amounts changed on 1 July 2025. Your August pension payment already showed the new rates.
-
Retroactive payment delayed: The extra adjustment for July, which was supposed to be taken in August, will now be taken in September instead.
-
Three different amounts: Because of this, your deductions in July, August, and September will all be different.
-
Normal from October: Starting in October 2025, your deductions will be the same every month, based on your new contribution letter.
-
Letters coming soon: The official letters explaining your new monthly ASHI contributions are delayed because of UN meetings, but should arrive within two weeks.
-
Apologies: The UN Health and Life Insurance Section is sorry for the confusion and thanks you for your patience.
