US Presidential proclamation on “Restricting the entry of foreign nationals to protect the United States from foreign terrorists and other national security and public safety threats”

The President of the United States signed a proclamation on 4 June 2025 restricting the entry into the United States of nationals of several countries. Please see: “Restricting the entry of foreign nationals to protect the United States from foreign terrorists and other national security and public safety threats”.

Please note that the proclamation still permits nationals of these countries with a valid G-1, G-2, G-3 or G-4 visa to enter the United States (see section 4 (b) (iii) of the proclamation).

Note: The restriction currently applies to the following 12 countries: Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.
