This NY Times story about the contractors who manage the Al Hoi (Al Hawl also used) detention camp for ISIS remnants, which is now out of funds and closing, thanks to Elon and Co.
Some of you know about Al Hoi, but for those who don’t, Al Hoi is a tent slum in northern Syria where the women and children of ISIS fighters were collected and are being held. An out of date summary from Wiki is attached below.
Armed security for this camp is provided by other groups, said to be Kurdish fighters mainly. This camp has been holding at least 39,000 displaced families left in essentially stateless capacity from the ISIS war, and the subsequent “peace.” Many of these folks came from other countries, but many of these countries will not accept them for return. To say they are living in poverty is an overstatement, they are destitute, and essentially abandoned.
When the next terror attack occurs in the US or Western Europe, and someone wonders, ‘where do these angry young men come from?’ Or maybe, ‘why are these suicide bombers so angry with us?’ Try to recall their home town and training camp, Al Hoi.
