For the many Xunicef colleagues who remember Margaret Williams, and especially those who worked with me in the storied Africa Section of the mid 1980’s, the Bamako Initiative Unit and the Division of Personnel, she was one of my closest colleagues and the backbone of each of these HQ units. MW, as we called her, managed all administrative tasks and oversaw the other support staff in her special manner of gentleness coupled with a can-do attitude. She has retired to her native Grenada where Nadia and I were delighted to spend some time with her and have a pleasant lunch by the waterside. This unexpected event happened as our cruise in eastern Caribbean included Grenada as one of its stops. It was a great pleasure for all of us.
