Summary
Switzerland is cutting funding to several UN agencies in 2025, slashing CHF 3 million from UNAids, CHF 7.31 million from the Global Partnership for Education, and withdrawing CHF 4 million from Unesco. Unicef will see its funding drop from CHF 18 million to CHF 14 million, while the UN Development Programme faces a 20% cut to CHF 34 million. UN Women will also lose CHF 3 million. Swiss NGOs will take a 10% hit, losing CHF 7.5 million in core contributions. While peace promotion, humanitarian aid, and aid to Ukraine remain untouched, these reductions follow a broader trend, echoing the recent US decision to freeze foreign aid.
