A Note of Gratitude for those who Enrich the Classes I Teach : Niloufar Pourzand

I am very grateful to current UNICEF and XUNICEF friends who kindly enrich my classes at York University as well as University of Toronto, teaching International Development and Ethics in Global Affairs, during the 2024-2025 Academic Year.

This includes Dr. Mahendra Sheth, Noreen Khan, Aziz Froutan, Ada Ocampo, Deqa Musa, Emily Tiberghien, Hawa Sabriye, Aida Orgacka, Natalie Zend, Enrique Delamonica, Rocio Aznar, Paula Claycomb, Akiko Maeda, Lidra Remake, Marjan Montazemi…

Ada Ocampo

Mahendra

Their rich insights, varied experiences and commitment to social justice and human rights is always inspiring and educational for my students - and myself. Students are impressed by their commitment, sacrifices, dedication and hard-work and usually ask many good questions of them - including how they began their journey, how they balance their personal/professional lives and cope with the power dynamics which influence International Development/Humanitarian Work.

I feel very privileged to have such wonderful colleagues and it is an honour for me that our friendships and collegiality can continue and be passed on to new generations of potential professionals committed to equality and democracy.
