Greetings of the season! - End of Year Letter : Mary Racelis

Dear XUNICEF and CO-PEACE friends,

It is Christmas Day in Manila and the first time I have actually managed to send out my yearly greetings before or on the actual day! As we move toward the end of 2024 and the incoming New Year, my wishes for a very happy, healthy, productive and peaceful 2025. Recognizing and appreciating the bonds that hold us together, I look forward to continuing our efforts as concerned and committed retirees to do what we can so that children can overcome the tragedy of warfare.and participate in a more hopeful future.

Regrettably, over the past month, I have missed the last couple of CO-PEACE meetings. That is because I have.been so immersed in the scholarly side of my life, having had to prepare and give four major talks in 10 days at conferences in Japan and various parts of the Philippines. However, fortified with Karthika's thoroughly reported minutes, I'll catch up and be on board again in January. In the meantime, you may be interested in knowing what else I do beyond XUNICEF-CO-PEACE.

You are all sources of inspiration to those of us who started on this venture for children as zones of peace -- mainly Baquer, Rima, David, Tom, Karthika and me -- now fortified by all of you . I hope to see some of you at the XUNICEF reunion in the Philippines Feb 3-9, 2025!

"Alive in 2025!"
Mary

  1. Dear Friends,

I wish you, and your loved ones, a beautiful Christmas and an excellent new year. Hoping that, in 2025, the Middle East and all zones of conflict will get a serious chance to enjoy a just and lasting peace. Utopia, maybe. But the wildest wishes are accepted for Christmas - and some are granted.

Hoping to get together soon. Warmest regards, saad
