Ireland, Norway, and Spain will recognize the State of Palestine on May 28 : AP / The Guardian


Ireland, Norway and Spain will join the list of countries recognizing the State of Palestine on May 28th. Slovenia and Malta have also indicted their plans for recognition.  So far 139 of the 193 members of the United Nations have recognized Palestinian statehood.  

The UK and Australia have indicated similar plans for recognition, but no dates have been set.  The US, France, and Germany have so far said that while they support a 'two-state solution', conditions have not yet been been met and recognition will depend on direct negotiations.
