Niloufar Bayani is an Iranian wildlife biology conservation researcher and activist. She was convicted in 2019 of espionage by Iranian authorities in a closed-door trial in Iran, and received a 10-year prison sentence. She was born in 1986 in Tehran and graduated from McGill University in Montreal. She later worked for UNEP for five years.
