This is the first in-depth interview given by Martin Griffiths since his announcement that he is stepping down as UN Humanitarian Coordinator in June. It will surely be of interest to colleagues, not only for the strong statements he makes about Israeli war crimes in Gaza and elsewhere, but also for his moral and philosophical reflections on his life's work.

And by the way, he mentions that his first experience working with the UN was in 1972 as a UNICEF volunteer.

    KUDOS to Martin for this memorable interview. He shined as the epitome of the selfless internationalist he has been in all his career, starting with UNICEF. He will be missed. I was also impressed with Christian's questioning which was quite personalized and did not appear to be a typical "CNN like" interview, especially on issues related to the Palestine/Gaza situation. Brava !
