Today, March 20th, 2024, XUNICEF News & Views marks its 6th anniversary. Come celebrate with us, the readers, writers, photographers, artists, editors, and members of XUNICEF.
Back on March 20, 2018 we sent out our first XUNICEF newsletter. To mark the day we are republishing that first newsletter - click here.
Over the coming two weeks we plan to republish a few of the articles XUNICEF members have shared via our newsletter and blog. Watch for them in the coming days.
We also invite our readers to share their own favorites over the six years.
We also hope that those who wrote and shared articles will send us a few lines looking back at what has happened since then. Share your perspectives on the past six years - not just on the newsletter and blog, but on UNICEF, the UN, and the world.
Remember that our blog format allows you to browse all the articles we have ever published - in reverse order right back to March 2024. Remember an article that caught your attention - just search one or two key words to find it. Then share it with us so that we can republish it.
A few big numbers worth noting:
We were not yet 'online' back then, so the newsletter went out by email. Our 'online presence' only began in January 2019, so the statistics below are somewhat below the actual. We take these numbers from Google Analytics which tracks the statistics.
194 Countries - We members of XUNICEF live in 100 countries, but many are travelers. We also know that we have many readers who have not yet joined XUNICEF, read our blog. Over the years our readers have signed to News & Views in 194 countries.
8,250 Articles Published - Many of our members write and share articles on the News & Views blog. Since we began our online blog, we have published 8,250 articles.
548,268 Times Articles Read (or Reread) - Those articles were 'opened' (and we hope 'read') 548, 268 times.
4,834 Comments Shared - The articles elicited responses shared by other readers 4,834 times.

A Volunteer Effort - Join Us - You Are Needed
While the numbers might sound impressive, the fact remains that all the work behind News & Views depends on a small team of six volunteer editors and a small group of members who regularly contribute articles - by our count only about 30 in all.
