My new year message to my former colleagues in XUNICEF.
“ I hope you have welcomed the New Year in good health. Yes, the year 2023 has just entered the past. A tumultuous year I must say marked by several unfortunate events namely: two wars with their share of sufferings, humanitarian crisis, destructions and loss of human lives including children, clashes and hostilities in some countries, protests and urban violence in several regions, political and diplomatic tensions between some countries, food crisis, inflation with its negative consequences and climate change and its destructions. It should be also underlined that Covid the deadly virus continues to spread, contaminate human beings around the world and cause loss of human lives. Yes, dear colleagues one has the impression that we were sailing on a black sea in the middle of a storm.
However we must not lose confidence and hope. Let us look to the year 2024 with optimism for better days notably the end of the two wars and a more humane and just society.
May the New Year bring good health and joy to you and your family. May also the new path that is now open before you be without hurdles and 2024 be the year of peace in the world and for you of great personal and professional satisfaction “
Warm regards
Fritz
