Missing You - Marie-Suzanne Prosper de Brouwer : Sad News from Veronica Luard
I would like to share information regarding the death of Marie-Suzanne Prosper de Brouwer, in Ottawa, Canada on the 5th of January 2024. She retired from UNICEF after serving as the Representative in Mozambique and Swaziland. I have added a picture.
Suzanne always represented a bright spot in program planning. She had much-appreciated insights as a veteran development worker and children's advocate. Thank you Veronica for reaching out to her colleagues and friends like me, who remember and value the enthusiasm and caring outlooks she brought to our UNICEF challenges. Mary
When we retired in Montreal in 1995, Suzanne was the only retiree I knew who lived not far away. We made contact immediately with her and through her to George Bourgoignie , WACRO regional planning officer, also retired in Ottawa. It was always nice to meet with Suzanne and I maintained the contact until a couple of years ago when she wrote me that she was not well and was having difficulty in following the XUNICEF blog and other email correspondence. She was a very dignified lady with a subtle sense of humour. Our friendship started during the heyday of my Africa Section tenure in the mid-1980's . It is with much sadness that we learn of her passing. May She Rest in Peace.
