As we approach the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and 16 days of activism - leading to the International Human Rights Day - 10 th of December - let us focus on the violence girls and women have/are experiencing in Gaza/Occupied Palestine and the violence Israeli girls/women have/are facing. War/ conflict/ weapons/ bombardments/ sanctions/occupation/imprisonment/hostage taking etc. remain the starkest kinds of violence girls and women face.

Let this Ceasefire become permanent. Let there be social justice and peace - the best way forward to address Violence Against Women. And then in peace and social justice, we can continue the work to end other forms of Violence Against Women, including Domestic Violence.

I absolutely agree. There is no other name or term for it. Locking a young girl for 8 years, taking her freedom away from her, violating her basic human rights" is violence against girls and women". Thank you Niloufar!
