Dear Shareef bhai, Shafiq Bhai and the team copied in this mail,
ReplyDeleteGood morning to all.
Yesterday I received my copy of the book. I am especially indebted to Shareef Bhai and Sharif Alam bhai for their efforts to get it to me. As I flipped through the pages, I remembered my time in UNICEF-Dhaka. I felt happy-proud-sad . . . it was a combination of explosions of emotions (!!). So much happed there...
Tom first mentioned about this book initiative to me and Shareef bhai roped me in as a contributor. Special thanks to both.
We have recorded history––a past that can never be distorted or misquoted. We have tried to give credit to all who were a part of our unique experiences as we navigated through the times we were present in the Dhaka office. This is a great achievement.
I am also glad that now we have built a concrete reference point regarding Meena's development and growth. "We Were There" is available to help newcomers and interested minds to access correct information on Meena in one place.
Is the digital version of the book uploaded? Would love to access it. The links in the Meena article in the printed version don't work. We should have written down the links in parenthesis––an oversight on our (authors') part.
Finally, I feel honored to be a part of this great team that managed the herculean task of publishing the book. It's an encyclopedia of our work, in essence!
With warm wishes to all,
Nuzhat
Dear Nuzhat:
ReplyDeleteThanks very much for your observations/comments about the book which carried complements (to initiators), emotions, and recollections with pride of our collective achievements in BCO!
On behalf of the core team, I would like to take this opportunity to immensely thank you for working hard in compilation and finalisation of the Obituary Chapter.
Let’s stay in touch as a group for some other creative works! Warm Regards, MS
