Valencia Mini Reunion, Oscar Fernandez

A mini XUNICEF Reunión took place here in Valencia, Spain!

Susan and I got together with ex colleagues and now friends for a sumptuous lunch at Casa Roberto, known to have the best Paella Valenciana in town. We had a very pleasant and enjoyable time together.

Starting from the left of the photo, Sikander Khan, Saad Houry, Margherita Amodeo, Valentin Sanchez and from the right, Clara Diaz, Oscar Fernandez, and Susan Csikos.

  1. What a distinguished group ! How was the paella anyway? Glad to see Saad and Margherita visiting you. Did you discuss a possible XUNICEF Reunion in Spain, or in Malta ?

  2. The paella, and the tapas before it, were simply extraordinary! Casa Roberto is famous here in Valencia, not just for their Paellas but for everything else as well.
Yes, We briefly spoke about a XUNICEF reunion here, but then we realized that the 2024 reunion will take place in Manila. So, in 2025, If we are all still here and in one piece, we’ll definitely contemplate a reunion, with possibly side trips to Cordoba with its beautiful patios and its incredible Mosque /Cathedral, Granada and it’s magnificent Alhambra, or Sevilla with its incredibly opulent Cathedral, the biggest in the world, a must see!
It was truly a pleasure for me to host in our apartment and meet Sikander and Saad! You are right, distinguished gentlemen! As well Margherita, Valentin, and Clara are as well! As Rick Blaine once said, “I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship!”

Fond memories of the time in Amman and of the lovely friends and colleagues like yourself. Stay well - SK
