On the road again! Susie and I are taking another one of our road-trips in Spain. This one is taking us to Cordoba, Granada, Malaga, Sevilla, then finally back home to Valencia. The first leg of our Andalucía road trip started with a train ride from Valencia to Cordoba. We rented a car in Cordoba for the rest of the trip.
Córdoba is currently the city that hosts the most UNESCO World Heritage titles in the world, which includes the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, and that is where we started our tour.
The Mosque-Cathedral - The immensity and wonders of this magnificent religious building manage to leave you completely dazzled!
It is impossible to overstate the beauty of the great mosque of Córdoba, with its remarkably serene and spacious interior. One of the greatest works of Islamic architecture in the world, the Mosque hints, with all its brilliant decoration, at a refined age when Muslims, Jews and Christians lived together and enriched their city with a heady interplay of diverse and vibrant cultures.
Arab chronicles tell how Abd ar-Rahman I bought half of the Visigothic church of San Vicente for the Muslim community's Friday prayers, and then, in AD 784, bought the other half to build a new mosque.
Three later expansions nearly quintupled the size of the Mosque of Abd ar-Rahman I and brought it to its current form, with one major alteration: a Christian cathedral placed right in the middle of the mosque in the 16th century (hence the often used description 'Mosque-Cathedral' or, as it is called in Spanish, La Mesquita Catedral de Córdoba.
The Jewish quarter of Córdoba is the area of the Spanish city of Córdoba in which the Jews lived between the 10th and 15th centuries. Also, there you can find the only existing synagogue in Andalusia and one of the only three that are preserved in Spain from that era.Streets, alleyways , and parks of Córdoba!

You are in such a beautiful and historical place. Enjoy and have a great time. We were driven from Alicante to Granada a few years ago by our best friends Munck/Alvarez and will never forget that happy and beautiful time. All the best 👍
