Where I Live - Las Vegas: Lou Mendez

LAS VEGAS, Nevada ... 12 years in the desert. Moses wandered for 40 years - I decided to stay put.

Las Vegas simply known as Vegas, is the 26th most populous city in America and labels itself the Entertainment Capital of the World. Its name is Spanish for "the meadows” given its abundant wild grass, as well as the desert spring waters. The city sits on a valley surrounded by the Sierra Nevada mountains and is considered a retiree haven. Tourism is its major industry although many firms have now moved to the city given its very friendly policies to business.

Good Morning Vegas - hiking the desert @ 0630 hours.

The most photographed sign in the world!

Yes Alice, it sometimes snows in Vegas!

Who says Venice is only in Italy - The Venetian Hotel has 36 stories, with 4,049 rooms, 3,068 suites and a 120,000-square-foot (11,000 m2) casino with canals inside.

The famous Strip - reminiscent of Elvis and Sinatra's rat pack.

  3. Thank you Gulbadan and Maie.

Most welcome to visit, however NEVER during summer as it scorches - suggest Sept-May. What I did not mention is that every professional chef who is rated has a restaurant for us to indulge.

    Keep safe - Lou
