It is never a dull moment for Mehr Khan Williams.
She recently published her book Between Two Worlds, both an autobiography and the history of her family set against historical changes taking place in Afghanistan, India and Pakistan from the 16th century to the present day.
Mehr announced publication of her book in News and Views on December 9th - click here. She is donating the proceeds to UNICEF.
Mehr's book takes us on a journey with Pathans of Afghan origin as they circulate across South Asia, repeatedly fleeing turbulence in search of security. They find it in the space between two of India’s great rivers, the Ganges and the Yamuna where they build new and prosperous lives. But 400 years later, the Partition of India shatters their lives, forcing them to rebuild again as refugees in a new world.
After a period, many of the descendants leave home again, this time settling all over the world. Between Two Worlds shows how traumatic changes can transform women’s lives and shape their children as they wrestle between old and new values.
I was pleased to learn that Between Two Worlds is now in its second printing, meaning that additional copies are now available from both Amazon and Itasca The book is also now available as an e-book from Little Book Company - click here.
After meeting the daunting challenges of writing and publishing, Mehr is now picking up where she left off. Below are three delightful paintings that she added to her growing collection. Please click here to see her album of beautiful artworks -Mehr Khan Williams Album
