No Dreams: Sree Sree Gururaja

by Sree Gururaja

Madam, Sir

Perhaps like me

Most colleagues despair

No dreams for children

At least around here

Some progress was made

Then came covid

Hopes vanished

Fears conquered!

It’s more gloom

As flowers will not bloom

When all that matters

Is greed and power

The few who care

Cannot even dare

As there are watchdogs

Everywhere!

India’s children are bereft

Of good health and nutrition

Two years of learning lost

No Schools or play

Parents at home afraid

When they will get paid

For jobs were scarce.

All we can do

Is pray for things to resolve

So children can hope

For a tomorrow better than today!
