Our Artist of the Week - Mehr Khan Williams

Painting has been one of the most joyful experiences of my retired life. I had never learned to either draw or paint in school or even afterwards until just before I retired. I did not know how much I loved color until I started painting.

It has also taught me to observe things. When one learns to draw, one realizes how critical observation is. Things are not what they seem! And it has shown me how much I love nature. It takes my breath away to see a beautiful moonrise or a tree in full bloom. These are invaluable gifts that painting has given me.

  1. Mehr it is so nice to see your picture and your beautiful paintings. Today you are the second friend I enjoyed reading about. Franziska wrote a wonderful article about Her experiences in Sudan. I am so happy to count on both of you. And proud of your achievements. A big hug to you from the mountains of Guatemala.

  5. Very nice, Mehr Khan. I enjoyed the slideshow.

I think I will share some of Ralph Diaz' photos, too, if that is permitted. UNICEF had a lot of amazing people, and now that they are retired, they are discovering other talents that were hidden while they pursued their careers working for the World's Children.
