Dear all,
Nigeria is restless, and it’s spilling over to other issues. Our warehouse in Adamawa was set ablaze yesterday and we have lost medical and educational items, and hooligans ransacked state offices there. Borno is relatively quiet – no protests, but the Non-State armed groups have begun collaborating / coordinating their activities and now they launch attacks in 2 (or more) different places at the same time, so yesterday we had attacks in Damboa, Gwoza, and Konduga LGAs … thankfully my team is safe, although we’re all restless.

Seems they’ve figured out “delivering as one” faster than the collective UN “we” have (forgive my wry humour).
On the up-side, we (Nigeria) celebrated our first ever World Polio Day while being certified Wild Polio-Virus free. It’s a wonderful feeling to look on that day and ponder how far we’ve come, rather than how far we have yet to go. We’re now busy engaging communities so that they may understand that the certification doesn’t mean immunisation stops – big misperception there, at all levels.
Wishing you all a lovely week.
