In Egypt through studies at community level, lack of access to safe education facilities for young girls was identified as a major causative factor encouraging child marriage.
The girl friendly community schools championed by Malak Zaalouk proved a very effective response, also creating awareness among parents, particularly mothers. I
have lost contact with Malak, but perhaps Anis can help reconnect. Malak has written extensively on this subject and perhaps she can share some of her positive experiences
