Christiane Dricot
Jean used to say he is not a collector! He started acquiring Nativities while we were in Peru from 1972 to mid 1976. It was not at all for purposes of building a collection. Simply, he loves the art work.
His collection represents 40 countries. Most of them represent countries where we lived or have visited. All his Nativity sets have sentimental value.
Some Nativities were brought back by travelling relatives. Some are very tiny, some are majestic. Some are quite recent, others are relatively old. They may be made by humble craftsmen or by renowned artists.
In most cases, what matters for Jean is to have discussed each piece of artwork with its creator. In short, he views his "collection" as priceless...!
