Summary

Israeli strikes across Gaza killed at least 13 Palestinians on Thursday, including five children. The deaths bring the total number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since the ceasefire took effect to at least 425, according to Gaza's health ministry.

The announcement came as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that former UN Mideast envoy Nickolay Mladenov has been chosen to direct President Trump's Board of Peace, which is meant to oversee the second phase of the ceasefire agreement. The board is supposed to supervise a new technocratic Palestinian government, Hamas disarmament, deployment of an international security force, additional Israeli troop withdrawals, and reconstruction, though the U.S. has reported little progress on any of these fronts.

Egyptian and European Union leaders meeting in Cairo urged deployment of an international stabilization force.
